ASSOCHAM research award for Manipal University
Manipal, Feb 20 (NITN): Manipal University, Manipal was adjudged the “Best University Promoting Research” for its contribution in research and innovations at the 9th ASSOCHAM Higher Education Summit in New Delhi on Feb 17.

Sandeep Shenoy, Deputy Director, Quality and Compliance received the award on behalf of the University from thechief guest, Ram Shankar Katheria, Minister of State for HRD. D S Rawat, Secretary General ASSOCHAM was also present.

ASSOCHAM in association with AIU organized the Summit and that was followed by the National Excellence Awards. ASSOCHAM instituted these awards to felicitate and honor institutions, universities, colleges, schools and service providers who have contributed significantly in improving the quality in education, delivery mechanism with emphasis on world-class research and innovations. The awards also recognizethe valuable contributions by education institutions and service providers across the nation for setting a landmark in the education industry.

Manipal University has been making giant strides in research. With dedicated hubs for research in Life Sciences, Stem Cells, Atomic Biophysics, Clinical Embryology, Genetics, Drug Discovery and Virology; the quality of medical research in the University is comparable to world standards. Avionics and Biomedical Devices are two other identified engineering research fields in Manipal.
