Tourism body Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) had recently organized various road shows at Chandigarh, Shimla, Jalandhar and Amritsar.
“It’s a new concept as barely people from outside Goa know about Gurudwaras here. We have a good population of Sikh community here,” GTDC Chairman Nilesh Cabral, who led the delegation to the two states, told reporters on his return to Goa.
The GTDC also highlighted monsoon tourism here which can be enjoyed through nature trails, waterfalls, river rafting, kayaking and festivals like San Joao, Sangodd and Bonderam.
Goa Tourism is now keen on tapping the huge base of domestic tourists by promoting the state during the non-peak months from April to October.
In the coming few weeks, the GTDC has planned similar road shows in South India and Travel Fairs to be participated by Goa Tourism for vigorously marketing the state products.
The tourism department and GTDC have jointly conducted various road shows and international events in London, Berlin, France and other key markets in north India so far to market and promote Goa.
