Google has introduced new updates to AI Mode in Search aimed at making it easier for travellers to plan and book trips.

“With AI Mode in Search, you can already get real-time data to compare flights and hotels, find the best recommendations across the web, and craft the perfect itinerary,” Google said in a blog post announcing the new features.

The company said it is now upgrading the experience with new tools that allow users to track flight prices, check points and miles rates, and book hotels directly through AI Mode.

Flight price tracking in AI Mode

Google said it is bringing the popular flight price tracking feature from Google Flights directly into AI Mode, allowing users to set up price alerts while interacting with the chatbot.

Users can describe their preferred destination and travel dates, after which AI Mode will display available flight options and the latest prices from more than 300 partner airlines and travel websites.

“Today, we’re bringing Google Flights’ popular price tracking feature directly into AI Mode, letting you set up price alerts as you chat, without breaking your flow,” Google said.

The company added that once users are ready to book, AI Mode can help build a complete itinerary and direct them to the airline's website or their preferred booking platform to purchase tickets.

Flight price tracking through AI Mode is now available in more than 180 countries and territories worldwide.

Google said the feature has launched with initial support for Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Support for Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group will be added in the coming weeks, the company said.

Google brings hotel booking to AI Mode

Google has also introduced hotel booking through AI Mode in Search, allowing users to discover and book accommodation through a conversational interface.

“Today, we’re introducing hotel booking through AI Mode in Search, so you can discover and book your next hotel in one seamless conversation,” the company said.

Users can describe their upcoming trip and hotel preferences, with AI Mode generating a visual list of options that includes guest reviews and key factors to help compare properties.

Hotel booking through AI Mode has started rolling out in the US in English. Google said the feature will be available over the coming weeks through partners including Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The updates are part of Google's broader effort to integrate AI-powered travel planning and booking tools directly into Search, allowing users to move from discovering travel options to making reservations within the same conversational experience.
