Culinary Institutes to be set up in India

New Delhi, May 13 (NITN): The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is setting up an Indian Culinary Institute (ICI) at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh with a Northern Regional Centre at Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

The two proposed Institutes at Tirupati and Noida are likely to be set up by 2017-18.

A technical committee is being constituted, having academic and industry experts to plan and design course structure for basics and advance culinary studies.

An international collaboration is also being explored with renowned culinary schools.

This information was given by the Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge), and Civil Aviation,  Mahesh Sharma in a written reply to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
