Madan Mitra flags off helicopter service
Kolkata Dec 30 (NITN): West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra on Sunday flagged off the Kolkata-Gangasagar helicopter service from the Behala Flying Club here.

 The helicopter service is a brainchild of the Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited (PHHL) in association with the West Bengal government.

 
Many people requested for tickets, but only 7 got tickets from the government's ticket booking website. 
 
The ticket has been priced at Rs. 1500 and the journey takes about 30 minutes. 
 
Madan Mitra said, "We are very happy after starting this service. On Monday, that is Dec 30 the Kolkata-Durgapur helicopter service will start and Kolkata to Malda, Balurghat and Santiniketan helicopter service will start within this week." 
 
He also said that Kolkata to Andal, Haldia, Digha, Asansol, Murshidabad helicopter service will start very soon.
 
Helicopter fares (All are single ride fare):
 
Kolkata-Gangasagar = Rs. 1500(INR) every Sunday;
Kolkata- Durgapur = Rs. 2500 every Monday;
Kolkata- Santiniketan = Rs. 1500 every Saturday;
Kolkata- Malda = Rs. 1300;
Kolkata- Balurghat = Rs. 1500.
