Present on this occasion were renowned writer Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay, emienet artist Jogen Chowdhury, reputed actor Rachana Banerjee, lyricist Srijato and others.
During the event the actor turned poet Arjun Chakraborty recited one of his most favourite poems from this collection.
“I was always inclined towards literature and writing poems is something I enjoy thoroughly. Coming out with the collection of my poems was in my mind for a long time,” said the actor.
Arjuner Aw Kobita is a compilation of 101 poems penned by Arjun Chakraborty. Thematically, the poems deal with his memories from the past, life, love and passion.
A multi-faceted personality, Arjun Chakraborty is not only an actor of great repute, but is also a singer, writer, wildlife enthusiast and an immensely talented photographer.
In his early days he worked as an assistant director for famous lyricist and director Gulzar in movies like Angar and Namkeen. He has worked as an actor in both Hindi and Bengali films like Ankush, Wheel Chair, Ekdin Achanak, Debota to name a few.
His first Bengali film Kori Diye Kinlam in (1988) won him a lot of critical acclaim. He is also a very talened singer. He has also directed the film Tolly Lights in 2008.
With Arjuner Aw-Kobita he makes his debut as a poet. As a bonus, readers will get a CD of Rabindrasangeet Eki Labanya, a collection of Tagore songs rendered by Arjun Chakraborty.
