Singapore Airlines (SIA) is upgrading its in-flight entertainment system, KrisWorld, with new display technology, audio features, personalisation tools and high-speed internet connectivity. The changes are intended to give passengers more control over their entertainment and how they use their time on board.

The next-generation KrisWorld system will feature 4K high-resolution touchscreen displays, including OLED screens on selected aircraft and in selected cabin classes. Other additions include spatial audio, active noise-cancelling headphones, Bluetooth connectivity for passengers’ personal headphones, a redesigned user interface, a new wellness planner and personalisation features. The system will offer more than 2,500 entertainment options.

The upgraded displays and audio features will provide sharper images and sound with greater depth and clarity across films, television shows, music and other content.

Mr Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Singapore Airlines, said: “Our customers told us that they wanted more choice and flexibility in how they spend their time on board, as well as entertainment and connectivity that fit more naturally into their journey. This guided the development of SIA’s next-generation KrisWorld and connectivity offering, which make it easier to discover and enjoy content, stay in touch with loved ones, and move seamlessly between entertainment and other activities during the flight.”

New entertainment and connectivity features set to roll out from 2027

SIA will progressively introduce the new KrisWorld system from 2027 on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft, as well as on its upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft.

High-speed internet connectivity will complement the entertainment system on aircraft equipped with Starlink. Passengers will be able to stream content, stay in touch with family and friends, use social media and gaming services, and continue working during their flights. The airline plans to begin introducing Starlink connectivity in early 2027, with installations progressively carried out on its Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft.

The upgraded KrisWorld system and high-speed connectivity are part of SIA’s wider plans for its end-to-end travel experience. Other elements include next-generation long-haul cabin products, refreshed dining options, new amenities across all cabin classes and changes to ground services. The airline will unveil the new travel experience in Singapore in November 2026.
