RBU organises six-day Teachers' Annual Exhibition of Faculty of Visual Arts 'Propositions'

Kolkata, Mar 25 (NITN): The Rabindra Bharati University (RBU) has held Propositions, a six-day Teachers' Annual Exhibition of Faculty of Visual Arts at the Birla Academy of Art and Culture here.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Professor Bidyut Chakraborty, Visva Bharati University Vice Chancellor, in presence of RBU Vice Chancellor Professor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury on Mar 19.

The chief guest at the inauguration was eminent artist and academician, Ganesh Haloi.

Speaking about the exhibition, Haloi told IBNS, "Feeling good because the exhibition has been done by teachers. This shows that teachers are active. The exhibition proves teachers not only speak but also teach students. By seeing these works, students will be enthused."

"It is always good for students to learn by looking at teachers' works instead of just listening to lectures," Haloi said.

Propositions showcased paintings, drawings, printmaking, sculptures and mixed media- the works of 16 well-known full-time teachers of the Faculty of Visual Arts, RBU, who are Aditya Prasad Mitra, Surajit Chanda, Dolon Champa Ganguly, Parag Roy, Paula Sengupta, Jayanta Naskar, Sujay Mukherjee, Sandip Chakraborty, Debashis Bhattacharya, Adip Dutta, Subrata Biswas, Nikhil Ranjan Pal, Anindya Pandit, Rajat Sen, Sohini Dhar and Sreyashi Chatterjee.
