Author interview: Sourabh Angarkar on his book 'The Vision Palate'

Congratulations on the release of 'The Vision Palate'. What is the feedback from your friends and readers who have already read your book.

Thanks for your wishes, firstly I am honored to be part of your company. The feedback about the book is immense, all my friends and family have given me a positive response. Few have tried my recipes and they all loved dining with there families.

What kind of books inspire you as a writer? Who are your favorite authors?

I specially like cook books and some books based on biography. I love reading them. And I have some. My favourite authors are  Chef Vikas Khanna and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Why did you want to become a writer? Who inspired you to become a writer? What triggered you to come into writing?

Well I can't be a chef rest of my life. I loved writing when I was child, during my teens. My inspiration to write a cook book is Chef Vikas Khanna based in America. And also Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. People love cooking. I want to explore fusion cuisine and introduce it to home makers.

What are you doing to let readers know about your book?

A simple answer ‘strong word of mouth’. I believe in that and I personally been in some cookery shows on television to promote my book. And to some colleges as well.

Tell me something about your book. Some highlights.

People said they loved the salads section in my book, I personally love salads, which consumes less time.

Tell me something about yourself and your background.

My name is Sourabh Angarkar. I am from Hyderabad. Completed my hotel management in Osmania University. And worked as chef in various star hotels. Moved to USA worked as a pastry chef and as a banquet chef. I love cooking.

Do you plan to take it up as a full time profession if response is good?
