JIS College of Engineering to hold its first convocation

Kolkata, Aug 31 (NITN): West Bengal based JIS College of Engineering, a leading self-financed autonomous institute, will be celebrating its 1st Convocation and 16th Foundation Day on Thursday through an event titled 'Journey through Time'.
The event will be attended by Vivek Kumar, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal; Dr. Ajoy Kumar Roy, Director, IIEST; Dr. B C Mal, Vice Chancellor, JIS University; Dr. Anupam Bose, Chairman & Head, Centre For Education Technology, IIT KGP, along with other dignitaries and eminent scientists and technologists.
184 students will also be felicitated.
Commenting on the future plans of the college, Dr. Malay R Dave-Principal, JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani, said, “On this sweet sixteenth year, we have enriched our student experience by throwing open value addition centers that would enhance and add on to their academic experience. For this we have partners in progress such as the CII Innovation Lab, British Council, Tata Technology Collaborative Innovation Learning Lab, Start-Up Incubation Lab, Global Opportunity Centre and NPTEL to name a few. We also have a robust placement cell that aids the students in getting coveted jobs.”
