Private carrier service Air India Express on Sunday inaugurated its daily direct flight between Kolkata and Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair).
The inaugural Kolkata-Sri Vijaya Puram flight took off on Sunday, 5:40 hours, offering travellers a well-timed direct flight to the scenic Andaman Islands.
Starting December 15, 2024, the airline will introduce an additional daily flight on this route, offering twice-daily connectivity between the City of Joy and the Tropical Paradise.
The airline has increased its services from Kolkata and Bagdogra by 37% this winter season, offering over 230 weekly flights from these two cities.
The airline has also inaugurated a daily direct flight on Bengaluru – Sri Vijaya Puram route.
Air India Express will commence daily flights between Chennai and Sri Vijaya Puram starting 1st January 2025, further enhancing connectivity to the Andaman Islands.
Air India Express has also inaugurated Jammu as a new destination today, with daily direct flights connecting Jammu to Delhi and Srinagar.
Air India Express operates 160 weekly flights from Kolkata connecting directly to 14 domestic destinations including Agartala, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), Surat, and Varanasi.
Additionally, the airline provides one-stop connectivity to 11 domestic destinations: Delhi, Goa, Gwalior, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam and nine international destinations including Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait, Riyadh, Sharjah, and Singapore.
