Goa Guv meets Union Minister over tourism promotion in India
New Delhi, Mar 13 (NITN): Goa Governor Mridula Sinha held a meeting with the Union Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Culture (Independent Charge) and Civil Aviation, Mahesh Sharma in New Delhi on Friday.

Both sides discussed issues related to promotion of Culture and Tourism in the country.
 
 Mridula Sinha requested that a Sanskriti Patrika should be brought by the Government in which each state will have its own edition. 
 
This will help to generate awareness about the culture of the country and also promote tourism, she said. 
 
Sinha said that the slogan of Athithi Devo Bhava should be reflected in every walk of life and all steps should be taken to make the tourist comfortable. 
 
She also proposed that a global University of Tourism should be set up which will function as a world class institution to give education about tourism industry as well as allied services industry sector. 
 
It will be the first of its kind in India to create skilled resources for the entire services industry and will be a step towards skilled India, the Governor added. 
 
Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Goa Government to promote tourism in the State. He assured all assistance to the Government of Goa to promote tourism in the State.
