49th edition of
Milan, Mar 21 (NITN): During this year dedicated to Expo and to the theme of food, wine is also experiencing a special moment. Tourists, visitors and specialists can have a taste of what will happen in Milan, during the 49th edition of "Vinitaly", the International Wine and Spirits Exhibition which takes place every year in the exhibition centre of Verona.

A full calendar of events, exhibitions, tastings and workshops will bring together about 4 thousand exhibitors and around 150 thousand visitors from all over the world from 22nd to 25th March

The core of the event is reserved to the Italian nectar of gods which contributes to ensuring Italy is a true country of taste.

Regional stands offer the opportunity to learn about all the different productions that have made Italian wine unique for its variety and quality: from the vineyards of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, whose characteristics have also been recognised by Unesco, to those of the Chianti hills, to Brunello of Montalcino, to the sweet Sicilian Passito wines, those from Sardinia, to Lambrusco from Emilia-Romagna, Vinitaly is a journey through good food and drink.

This program also includes "Vinitaly and the City", a series of evening side events that offers fans and business operators the opportunity to discover Veneto and Italian wine and food treasures from 19th to 24th March.

Let’s not neglect the location where the event takes place, the City of lovers that many have discovered thanks to William Shakespeare and where traces of more than 2000 years of history may be found.
