Goa Tourism, with Central Finance Assistance from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has decided to take-up a Rs 17.23-crore project to develop the Colva costal circuit. The timeline allotted for the completion of this project is 180 working days.
Tenders for the above development work have already been floated. The Colva, Gonsua, Betalbatim and Benaulim beaches in South Goa are located in the Salcete Taluka. These beaches are very popular with the domestic and International tourists all through the year.
Dilip Parulekar, Tourism Minister, Government of Goa, said, “All South Goa beaches are internationally famous and attract a lot of tourists. Considering the present scenario, these areas demand development, upgradation and a facelift, which can help accommodate more tourists and provide better facilities to them that will help boost tourism in South Goa.”
The infrastructure development project that would be implemented along the beaches in South Goa will include creating and improving various facilities like parking of vehicles, children park with play area, changing rooms, toilets, seating, pathways and beautification of strategic parts and places of interest in along this coastline, which would help in attracting more tourists to the state.
