Strong market growth celebrated at Tourism Australia’s North America update
09 Oct 2015, 11:12 am
Sydeny, Oct 9 (NITN): More than 60 trade and consumer media attended Tourism Australia's North America market update held in Toronto, Canada.
Robert Keddy, Tourism Australia’s head of commercial partnerships for the Americas, shared news of strong market spend and visitor arrivals to Australia.
Expenditure from the US reached $3 billion for the year ending June 2015, up 14 per cent, and strong arrivals growth was recorded from Canada and the US.
At the event Tourism Australia also unveiled its revamped Aussie Specialist Program which re-launched in the UK and North America in September.
Off the back of strong spend and arrivals figures, Tourism Australia this week launched a new partnership campaign with Air New Zealand in the US, offering one low fare for up to eight of the airline’s Australian gateway cities.
The campaign includes, for the first time, the option for Americans to fly to Perth as part of the one low fare offer, in support of the airline’s increased services to the Western Australia city launched earlier this year.
