New working holiday maker promotion in Japan
15 Oct 2015, 09:09 am
Sydney, Oct 14 (NITN): Tourism Australia is hoping to tempt young Japanese travellers Down Under for an extended stay with a new website launched on Tuesday promoting the working holiday visa.
The site features testimonial videos and a competition to win a four week English course with homestay and return flights to encourage applications.
Tourism Australia has also partnered with one of Japan’s biggest broadcasters, TBS, to showcase a variety of working holiday experiences with a Japanese pop-idol group KAT-TUN.
TBS’ weekly show “KAT-TUN no Sekaiichi Tameninaru Tabi” (The World Best Trip) will also run a Gold Coast special feature following a recent trip supported by Tourism Australia and Tourism & Events Queensland.
Currently 20,000 Japanese take up working holiday visas annually and Australia has consistently ranked the number one destination and taken over 50 per cent of this market.
