Jet Airways, Kenya Airways expand codeshare agreement
Mumbai, Nov 15 (NITN): Jet Airways, India’s premier international carrier and Kenya Airways, the national carrier of Kenya, on Tuesday announced an expansion of their existing cooperation by including codeshares on Jet Airways’ domestic flights between Mumbai (BOM), New Delhi (DEL), Ahmedabad (AMD) and Hyderabad (HYD), in order to enhance connectivity choices for guests while travelling from Kenya into India.

Through this agreement, Kenya Airways will place its flight code (KQ) on Jet Airways’ seven daily flights between Mumbai and New Delhi, five daily flights from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and five daily flights between Mumbai and Hyderabad for travel effective November 15, 2016.

The arrangement continues to include Jet Airways’ code (9W) on Kenyan’s double daily flights on the Mumbai – Nairobi route, allowing Jet Airways’ guests to connect to other onward destinations in Africa.

According to Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways,“With a domestic network of 46 destinations, Jet Airways connects the world into India seamlessly. Expansion of our codeshare relationship with Kenya Airways will allow us to offer the India diaspora in Kenya convenient access to more destinations in India. At the same time, Indian travellers can continue enjoying the opportunity to explore more of Kenya and East Africa via our international codeshares, strengthening the relationship between the people of the two nations.”

Kenya Airways’ Group Managing Director and CEO, Mbuvi Ngunze, said “The expanded partnership will enable customers of both carriers to derive maximum benefit from this cooperation. It will enable us to offer our customers seamless connections to three Indian cities. We see a lot of demand into domestic India from Kenya and East Africa, with passengers travelling mostly for business, leisure or health tourism.”
