IndiGo has introduced a new Economy Class fare called 'IndiGo Lite', designed for passengers travelling with cabin baggage only. The new entry-level fare allows travellers to pay only for the services they use, while offering the option to add extra services based on their travel needs.

The IndiGo Lite fare will be available exclusively through the airline's direct booking channels, including its website, mobile application and contact centre, from July 1, 2026 for travel starting July 15, 2026. It will be offered on all domestic and international non-stop routes and will be available for one-way, round-trip and multi-city bookings for both adult and child passengers, the airline said.

What's included in the new fare

Passengers booking IndiGo Lite will receive an auto-assigned seat at no additional cost and can carry up to 7 kg of cabin baggage. The fare does not include check-in baggage by default, allowing customers travelling with only cabin luggage to book at a lower base fare.

Travellers can choose to purchase additional services such as check-in baggage, preferred seats, meals and priority services like Fast Forward. These add-ons can be booked through IndiGo's website or at the airport up to one hour before departure. Passengers travelling on the Lite fare will also continue to earn and redeem IndiGo BluChip loyalty points.

Aloke Singh, Chief Strategy Officer, IndiGo, said, “At IndiGo, we continuously evolve our product offerings to stay aligned with the changing expectations of our diverse customer segments. Designed for customers who travel light and would like to pay only for the services they need, IndiGo Lite is another step towards building a strong, fit-for-purpose product portfolio. This reflects our agility in responding to the market dynamics while reinforcing our commitment to making travel more accessible and affordable for our customers.”

With the introduction of IndiGo Lite, the airline's '6E Ways to Fly' portfolio now includes Saver, Flexi Plus, IndiGo UpFront, IndiGoStretch, Stretch+ and IndiGo Lite, giving passengers a wider range of fare options based on their travel preferences, comfort requirements and budget.
