TVoAs in February 2015 show an increase of 1162% over the TVoAs of February 2014
New Delhi, Mar 13 (NITN): Government of India has launched Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVoA) enabled by Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) on November 27, 2014 for 43 countries. The Government extended this Scheme to the citizens of Guyana in January, 2015.

The following are the important highlights of tourist arrived by ETA enabled TVoA during February, 2015:
 
(i)      During the month of February 2015, a total of 24,985 tourist arrived by ETA enabled TVoA as compared to 1,980 TVoA during the month of February 2014, registering a growth of 1161.9%.
 
(ii)    During the month of January-February 2015, a total of 50,008  TVoAs were issued as compared to 3,883 TVoA during the month of January-February 2014, registering a growth of 1187.9% only.
 
(iii)   This high growth may be attributed to introduction of ETA enabled TVoA for 44 countries as against coverage of earlier TVoA scheme for 12 countries.
 
(iv)  The percentage shares of  top 10 source countries for ETA enabled TVoA, in India during February 2015, were as follows:
USA (31.01%), Russian Federation (14.76%), Germany (11.90%),  Australia (8.47%), Republic of Korea (7.68%), Ukraine (6.05%),          Japan (2.09%), New Zealand (1.83%), Israel (1.82%) and UAE( 1.82%).
 
(v)    The percentage shares of different ports for ETA enabled TVoA, in India during February 2015, were as follows:
New Delhi (43.84%), Mumbai (19.84%), Goa (14.20%), Bengaluru (6.03%), Chennai (5.88%), Hyderabad (2.83%), Kochi (2.73%),        Kolkata (2.57%)  and Trivandrum (2.09%).
