Book Review: Vijay Pratap Singh's 'Wet Petals' is all about human kindness and bonding

Wet Petals, written by Vijay Pratap Singh and published by Power Publishers,  is a story about human kindness and the bonding people share despite difficulties and hatred.

Financial problem in the third world countries like India and the predominating caste reservations that deter many deserving students from studying further, forms the intricate premise of the novel.

Aarav, the protagonist of this novel, is given financial assistance by Mr Fernandes, from an NGO, when Arav is faced with difficulties.

He goes through several hardships and challenges, but Steve becomes his ultimate saviour throughout his college life at the Medical College.

What happens next? Will Aarav be able to embrace success in his career and find happiness in his personal life?

Like any other individual, Aarav finds the love of his life, Angelina but life doesn’t become smooth for them.

Soon he finds that Angelina is suffering from a terminal heart condition and her days are numbered.

Readers may think that Aarav will donate his heart to his beloved and remain alive inside her.

However, there is a twist in the tale and the story concludes with the happy union of the lovers, since Bundala, a courtesan, who had a past connection with Aarav, agrees to donate her heart to Angelina, .

The strong bond between friends is one of the main areas of focus in this novel.

Apart from friendship, the essence of pure love is highlighted.

Aarav’s love for Angelina is pure and unconditional; hence he doesn’t think twice before planning to donate his own heart to her, but fate has other plans for them.

The significance of the title is included in the novel and it enhances the blissful essence of love, since the wet petals has been compared to the lustrous eyes of Angelica which can rejuvenate anyone who beholds it!

The novel is well-structured into 25 chapters and each chapter has a significant name.

The burning political issue surrounding reservations is showcased along with a personal and emotional touch, which many people can relate to.

Priced at Rs 290, the book is now available at power-publishers.com, flipkart.com and amazon.com.
