Thiruvananthapuram/NITN: Travelling in Kerala by women travellers, solo or in groups, is set to become more convenient with the state tourism planning to launch a mobile application (app) for this expanding sector.
The app will list women-friendly tourism packages, images of destinations, sociocultural features, lists of women tourist operators and guides, as well as other relevant amenities, according to media reports.
The content will be prepared by the State Responsible Tourism Mission (RT Mission), a nodal agency working for ‘women friendly tourism project’, the state tourism department said in a release.
This is in continuation of Kerala Tourism’s initiative to make the state one of the friendliest for women travellers.
In October 2022, the RT Mission was launched to empower women in various tourism-related areas, such as tour operators, homestay operators, guides and story tellers, taxi/car drivers, etc., which in turn would help women travellers feel safe and plan their travels across the state.
